STATE REGISTRY CONTACT DETAILS
Access to birth, death or marriage certificates vary across Australian states and territories, so too do adoption laws.
You will need to contact the relevant registry specific to where the event happened, for example where the adopted person was born. To access ACT birth certificates, you first need authorisation from the Family Information Service in the state where born.
